The new patch 9.24 is already live and we couldn't let you know the best champions and the new meta brought with this new patch! We've made a research with our boosters and here are the results of the new meta for patch 9.24!
Top
The current drake meta summed up with a huge bot influence into the game, making the top laner pick a very late game champion or one with a good initiation or team fight skills.
Split push is still a big deal, the champion you play on top lane needs to have an opportunity to duel or at least keep the enemy top laner in the lane, without giving him the chance to roam. On solo queue, the more you stomp top, the better it is for you, but there are some games that you simply cannot do this on your own, in that case, a supportive champion is a very good choice.
This patch, we saw some small buffs on Gnar and a Garen adjustment which, to be honest, isn’t an issue for top lane. The biggest change was the nerf on Conqueror, resulting in several changes on our tier list.
Tier list for Top
The champions I would like to highlight are:
Conqueror Kled - Very strong champion 1v1, unkillable with his ability to go on his riding form almost instantly after drop. Great at split push, one of the best ability to start team fights as a team with a slight advantage.
Grasp Shen – After the Conqueror meta started to dominate top lane, Shen as a champion with the ability to resist against auto-attack champions and with a high influence at bot lane/objectives after hitting 6, Shen started to be picked way more often and became a pretty solid pick on the current meta.
Conqueror Camille – I would personally choose Camille as the MVP of the top lane. She is the real split push monster with the ability to catch people off position. If Camile is ahead, she can almost 1v9 every game as a champion with great mobility, damage,, and lock-in.
Vision control on top lane has only 2 ways:
- If you are ahead, you can place a control ward on the new bush nearby the river when playing on the red side. When playing on the blue side, you should just probably place it in the tri bush.
- If you are even or losing, you can try to protect your tri bush control ward or place wards that can give you information about an incoming dive.
Runes for Top lane
You basically only have 2 choices: Grasp of the Undying or Conqueror. Here are some typical options to choose from in almost every case.
Runes #1:
First Rune: Precision
Going for:
- Conqueror
- Triumph
- Legend: Alacrity
- Last Stand
Second Rune: Inspiration
- Magical Footwear
- Biscuit Delivery
Runes #2:
First Rune: Resolve
Going for:
- Grasp of the Undying
- Demolish
- Bone Plating
- Overgrowth
Second Rune: Inspiration
- Magical Footwear
- Biscuit Delivery
Jungler
9.24 is almost the same as 9.23, the only differences are a new Graves build due to the changes in a few runes and the nerf on drakes. Especially the Ocean soul nerf. Also, every drake is getting a nerf which doesn't affect the jungle that much, because only the ocean soul is the most important. The quantity to get the drake soul is still the same.
Tier list for Jungler
Low base stats on jungle camps, lowered respawn timers means Graves and Nidalee will be on the stage. I placed Ekko and Lee Sin on S tier too because they are overbuffed. Nocturne is super good with the new Sanguine Blade and has a decent clear speed. I usually pick him if the enemy has 2 or more split pushers. Rek'Sai is a unique pick for me but I think it's still playable for anyone. Her scalings and clear speed are abnormally high. Kha'Zix is on the list because of the jungle camp resist nerfs. Although Nimbus Cloak rework hurts him a little bit, he is still good with the R evolved. Ornn is very good if you want to play a tank jungler. He doesn't need aftershock and his passive makes him the best tank in the game.

Mid
The patch 9.24 and 9.24b brought us a lot of changes. Even though the playstyle is constant, the tier list changed a lot, so let's start.
The biggest change is the conqueror nerf for ranged champions (half of the healing and overall duration nerf from 8s-6s), it has a big influence in our S-tier and bring some new champions into the top of our ladder.
There were some nerfs for Kassadin, Ryze and Akali but they didn't seem to make the champions weaker, because they are still very flexible being late game champs with a great conqueror use.
The champion, we would like to highlight is Heimerdinger who received 2 big nerf (conqueror + W and E nerf). He won't be dominating the lane that much as in the previous patch which I guess is great news for all the melee mid laner players.
Tier list for Mid
The champions I would like to highlight are:
Conqueror Kassadin – A monster in the late-game, conqueror gives him even more healing and with the presence of mind he received some mana buffs. Even though he received a little adjust, he is currently one of the strongest mid due to conqueror nerf for ranged champs such as Ryze or Heimer.
Conqueror Katarina – Same as Kassadin, she received a great opportunity to use her melee form as her advantage. She is a great assassin with great roam potential and high kill pressure. Everybody knows what a fed Katarina looks like!
Electrocute Qiyana – Still one of my favorite picks, especially with the new ad items adjustments, she is just amazing – poke, mobility, aoe damage, aoe cc
Even with conqueror nerf, the runes are still the same:
Runes #1:
First Rune: Domination
Going for:
- Electrocute
- Sudden Impact
- Eyeball Collection
- Ravenous Hunter
Second Rune: Inspiration
- Biscuit Delivery
- Time Warp Tonic
Runes #2:
First Rune: Precision
Going for:
- Conqueror
- Presence of Mind
- Legend: Tenacity
- Coup de Grace
Second Rune: Domination
- Taste of Blood
- Ravenous Hunter
Vision is still concentrated on objectives, mostly on drake. We ward pixel bush in about 3,5 min into the game because of the slow jungling and exp changes. Deep control wards are still very beneficial (at red when you play at the red side and on the bush nearest the wolf camp when you are playing on the blue side).
If you have advantage on mid you can help with vision around bot side and ward the new bush at the enter from river.
AD Carry
In patch 9.24, two of the strongest ADC's are Miss Fortune and Aphelios. Miss Fortune is very strong because of her obnoxious Doran's blade stacking and being tanky with a lot of life steal as well as damage, and Aphelios because of his AoE flamethrower(infernum) and his Chakram(crescendum) which has a turret that does Aphelios auto-attack damage (I.e. he can crit and AoE if he has his flamethrower as a secondary weapon at the same time), there's also the fact that people still don't know how to play against him and that causes a lot of issues and frustration.
Senna got heavily nerfed on this patch, every spell she has and even her passive. Now she stacks her passive later into the game and has overall less damage and cc that's why she will be dropping from S tier and she will be just below Aphelios and Miss Fortune.
Tier list for ADC
Bot
lane has became more impactful in the preseason because of the
importance of drakes consequently winning/having priority in bot lane
has become more important than ever and one of the most oppressive
champions in the bot lane is Caitlyn. This happens because of her
range and poking with sustain, she currently outranges almost every
adc in the meta. The only few champions that can stand their ground
against her in lane are Ashe/Senna/Jinx and one of those got heavily
nerfed which means Caitlyn has even less competition than she did
previously and bot lanes like Senna and Caitlyn are so oppressive
that it’s almost unplayable, they both just outrange you super
hard. Senna stacks her passive without worrying about taking cs
because she is a support and Caitlyn adds to that anytime she
can.
One of the more non-traditional marksmen that have been
creeping up in the bot lane is Cassiopeia. She’s one of the most
overturned champions in 9.24 even though Conqueror got nerfed this
patch for ranged champions, and it heals less and has a lower
duration to make some of them stray away from it, it doesn’t affect
Cassio as much because her damage is just absurd and she stacks
conqueror quite fast. She’s constantly fighting you if she hits her
q so her conqueror stacks won’t fall off. She’s also quite good
with champions like Thresh/Leona/Nautilus because they can set up her
q and w quite nicely and all you have to do is just follow up and
easily kill them, she continuously becomes stronger and stronger
after 2 items and is a nightmare to play against.

Support
The current S tiers remain the same, while some of the other supports got some significant nerfs and buffs. Also, some of the ADC's got buffs like Ezreal and Sivir.
Roaming supports might become more viable although winning the lane is still important, Rift also got a decent buff so you wanna make sure to support your jungler with roams or tracking the enemy jungler. Make sure you can assist the jungler on the ganks and rotations to the jungler or the mid-top rift lane as long you win your lane, you can secure the win.
Tier list for Support
S-tier:
Remains unchanged, the recent changes were focused on nerfs to some of the poke supports and small buffs to champions like Braum and Karma that really needed it to survive lanes against the S tier picks, also with the Rift changes early roam could be rewarded more properly, still winning lane is more important at the moment for dragon control.
A-tier:
Braum got some decent buffs focused on himself rather than the shared buffs for his allies, w now gives more Armor MR if he uses it on himself and it cost less mana, while his R now does more damage and knocks longer with levels.
Thresh remains the same. With Aftershock and E, he can keep up with ranged supports but still not as strong as them.
Karma got a decent buff on his shield so she can at least help her teammates survive. You need a lot of pressure to win the lane with Karma. You can either get help from the jungler or from a good adc. She also counters Morgana, so she is a good situational pick.
Morgana can counter the S-tier picks early game but you gotta try to combine her with Caitlyn, otherwise she is not as strong in lane.
Lastly, Senna got some significant nerfs so far she seems a bit weaker on ADC but as support is almost virtually the same at least you won't be seeing her on all lanes.
