EB24 about Legends of Wild Rift #1 Introduction of the Game

After the announcement of multiple games coming up in the future, besides Legends of Runeterra or TFT Mobile, there was an upcoming game for 2020 as well. Its name is League of Legends: Wild Rift. On this blog post, we'll be introducing you to what the game is about and more information about its concept and rules.

  • What exactly is League of Legends: Wild Rift?

League of Legends: Wild Rift is a mobile version of League of Legends. Riot decided to re-create and polish many champions/skin of the main game into a mobile version. The gameplay of this game is still 5v5 MOBA action, but with a unique mobile spin.

  • Why did they create this mobile version if there's the main one?

Wild Rift is the mobile version of League as we said above and the reason why is to make the game more playable, since you don't need a PC and you can play it anywhere you would like. As you can see on the announcement video, the executive producer Michael “Riot Paladin” Chow, explains that the urge to create the mobile version was to be able to help players that don't have that much time to play on PC or their life-styles don't really meet with the main games' requirements.

As they reply on the FAQ, at the League of Legends: Wild Rift website:

So basically, we rebuilt the game from scratch (like… the whole thing). Refreshed models, animations, game systems and more—but keeping true to the core League of Legends gameplay you already know. We didn’t want to just port League on PC 1:1—we want to make sure Wild Rift feels like it was designed for new platforms, and use that opportunity to make a bunch of improvements to the game. While you won’t get your unlocks from League PC, you’ll get some cool rewards for the time you’ve spent in the PC version. More to come on that in 2020!“

  • So this game will only be available for mobile? When will it be released?

No. From what it was announced, this game will also be released for console platforms. As they reply on their FAQ:

For mobile, we’re coming to iOS and Android, and you can pre-register on the Google Play Store right now. For console… we’ll have more info on that a bit later in 2020. Stay tuned by using the box above. “

  • Will there be a cross-platform? Between all platforms including PC?

From what was stated on the official website, there won't be any cross-platform here's why:

The games differ in a few ways, but both include the core 5v5 MOBA gameplay you expect from League of Legends. Adding cross-platform between League PC and Wild Rift would require compromises of competitive integrity, and we want to make sure the gameplay feels fair and fun no matter which platform you’re most comfortable on.

During certain big moments throughout the year, we’ll try to coordinate event themes and releases between League PC and Wild Rift, and we’re exploring the possibility of cross-platform play between mobile and console, but nothing locked in yet.”

  • Either way, do I need to pay for it?

No, the game is completely free-to-play, the only paid component is the skins and other cosmetics content.

  • How many champions will the game have?

From the announcement, at the moment, the game will be launched with only 40 champions. They will be adding more with time. The champions that have been confirmed/verified on the footages of the game are:

  • Will there be Ranked? Or new features?

From the official website, we could find that there will be ranked and there will be bonuses for League PC players!

The game looks very nice! Don't you think? It's pretty much alike normal League and so this also means one thing... If there's ranked of it, there'll be boosting too! You can count on us to give you a Boosting Service for it once it's released! See you in 2020 with the new mobile game! Stay tuned on our social media for more updates and upcoming events.
