EB24Picks - What are the best champions to Elo boost? - Part 3
Today we've arrived at the third and last part of the EB24Picks saga. And no, we didn't bring you another Jungler, even though we had a lot of options and suggestions from our boosters to make another one but this time we brought you a Top laner that has been criticized by ones and loved by others. It's one of the main champions played by Hashinshin, one that he has been complaining of being so weak a while ago. Can you guess which one is? If you're thinking of Jax, your guess is correct. This week we will finish this saga with Jax and show you how this man with a lamppost in his hand can dominate the game and help you climb to the stars!
So let's get started! Jax is a champion that, even though it doesn't look like it, he needs to focus on farming and getting a good amount of farm to start getting ahead against his opponent. For Jax, it is more important to farm and reach level 6 while having a few trades than being always fighting and trying to kill the enemy. He is a champion that in case of getting behind or camped, any event that makes him fall behind the enemy's top laner, will not have much impact later on the game once he has his power items.
The main skill order you should start is level up your E at level 1 and since it has a long cooldown, you need to use it wisely otherwise you might lose the trade against the enemy's top laner. The skill order should be like the one below:

Illustration [1]: Skill order
Even though you only level up your W at level 3, this ability will be the one that you will max first so it can help you when trying to trade with the enemy and getting ahead in lane by giving pressure on it. While looking strong at early levels, Jax has a few rough matches on top especially vs ranged champions like Kennen/Ryze/Jayce. Jax is strong vs most of the champions that are melee and based on auto attacks like Tryndamere, but he is also good vs Fiora or Renekton. His laning phase can be rough against Riven, Vladimir or Darius but if you are good enough or the enough bad enough to not punish you or pressure in lane, you can probably make a turnaround in lane and win it. Against a losing matchup you shouldn't push the lane otherwise they might freeze and you will stay a lot more behind than you wished and might lose the lane.
The builds and starting items may vary depending on the enemy opponent you are against to since the core items are always the same and can vary the situational items after it. For example, if you are on a good matchup and want to make a good amount of trades in lane you should start with a Corruption Potion, but if you are for example against a rough laner like Jayce, you might want to start Doran's Shield to have more sustain against his poke. If you want to all in, then you should buy Doran's Blade, of course, whenever you choose Doran's Shield or Doran's Blade, you always bring a few potions with you!
The core build for Jax is Trinity Force, Tiamat, and Spear of Shojin, the boosts can be Tabi Ninja or Mercury's Treads depending on the enemy's team comp. Once you have the main items, the situational ones will depend on the enemy's team comp but for most of the games, the items you should do after the core ones are Sterak's Gage, Randuin's Omen and Guardian Angel but for example, they have more AP champions, then you can change the Randuin's Omen and Guardian Angel to Adaptive Helm and Hextech Gunblade or change the Sterak's Gage to Maw of Malmortius but in this specific case, if you want to buy Maw instead of Sterak, then you should build an item with HP after it.
As Jax, the best tip is to follow the champion's essence, which is to slip push, you should always try to split push the side lanes and by doing this, you are pressuring the map and forcing the enemy's team to join you so they can stop you from splitting and giving your team an advantage in the game to do an objective or push another lane too. One trick is to always try to have a ward with you or a pink so you can jump to it, in case you need to escape from a gank or fight and to give you vision on the side of the map you are pushing on so you can have a “warning” when the enemy is coming for you.
And we've come to an end. In this blog post, we've learned how to manage Jax's abilities and matchups while knowing his core items and advantages that he can cause in the game while slit pushing!
