EB24 about Teamfight Tactics - Patch 9.24b - from a Booster’s Perspective

In contrast to patch 9.24 (which was heavily dominated by Blender, Berserkers and Electric comps), patch 9.24b feels refreshing and more diverse. Let’s get started with a patch rundown!

• Important changes

 1. Brand received a slight buff to his mana pool, which puts Ocean Mage comps in a good spot again. Ocean mage comps weren't played much during the past week, but are back in the meta now.

 2. Blademaster Assassin (Blender) has been nerfed significantly - the main carry units Nocturne and Sivir both received nerfs. Nocturne’s healing was reduced, while Sivir was indirectly nerfed by the Hush and Swordbreaker nerfs. Blademaster assassins are significantly weaker this patch, but most likely will remain in S tier.

 3. Shadow and Electric were both tuned down slightly.Zed had small nerfs to both his AD (80 ⇒ 70) and Armor (30 ⇒ 25), while Electric Damage was reduced from 100/300/500 ⇒ 80/250/500. 3 Shadow lost some damage as well, from 70% ⇒ 60%.

 4. Three star champions scale less (2.0 health and AD ⇒ 1.8 health and AD). This nerf mainly focuses on hyperroll builds by nerfing the strength of 3-star units. Going for 3-star units loses some value in general.

 5. Rangers received buffs:

- Ashe got her ability AD scaling increased,

- Twitch received some extra-base AD and buff to his mana pool.

Rangers will be very strong. We may finally see Rangers as an S tier comp for this patch!

2. Traits – items

Assassin

Bonus Crit Damage: 75%/150% ⇒ 50%/150%

Inferno

Damage 70%/120%/180% ⇒ 70%/140%/210% over 4 seconds

Hush Proc Chance: 33% ⇒ 25%

Swordbreaker Proc Chance: 33% ⇒ 25%

Warden Rangers

When to go?
If you have bows or B.F. swords, start building your ranger pairs and add frontline with double wardens. Vayne can be used to transfer items to you late-game carry units - both Ashe and Twitch are good choices!

Ocean Mages

When to go?
If you have rods or tears - these items are crucial for Brand to carry your comp. Opening with Vladimir-Syndra-Thresh will make it easier to complete your full comp.

Blademaster Assassins (Blender)

When to go?

This comp requires an early spatula, which you need to make your main carry Nocturne a Blademaster. It’s not good to force this comp without a spatula since not finding a spatula is a ticket to the bottom 4. Even after the nerfs, Blender remains a powerful comp that can carry you to the top 4 and even win games! Besides Blademaster Nocturne, you want to build hush, red-buff, and hurricane on your Siver since she is going to be your second carry.

Hyper Roll Predators

When to go?
Even after 3-star units were nerfed, Predators are still very strong! Predators are very flexible and can be played in many different ways, but this variation is my favorite! When you open with a lot of Predator units, go for this comp. Statikk Shiv and Luden’s Echo are both great items on Kog’maw - try to get at least one! Your goal is to 3 star your Predators. The main carry is Kog’maw, so try to 3* him and stack him with items.
