EB24 about League of Legends #15 Current meta, Patch 10.3 - from the Booster perspective

Patch 10.3 is already live and there's a lot of topics to talk and new changes that will be changing a few tier lists! Here are the best meta champions for each role on this patch:

  • Top

With patch 10.3 there are no changes to the tier list of top lane. The only affected top lane champions in this patch are Rumble and Sett.

Rumble got a little nerf on his W and sett got W nerfs as well. However, both are not significant enough to make them move out of the league they’re in. I’m also not gonna include the recent picks such as Sona and Soraka on the top lane as these are pretty placebo picks.

I’ve talked about this few months ago about Soraka being the strongest top laner in the game as she had the ability to beat any meta top laner from that time but now she is more of heal machine than a lane bully now as she lost a lot of q dmg and had e cooldown increased. The reason why these picks are good on the pro scene is that top lane is not about being 1v9 like in SoloQ. Top lane has a really low impact on the game and it mostly depends on which one of them gets fed.

For example, you won’t really get fed on Darius in competitive and 1v3 enemies because pro players are more coordinated in teamplay than people from soloq. In conclusion as a top laner in soloq, you want to be able to carry a game by being a solid heavy dmg bruiser/tank rather than be a useful healer/second support that has a good laning phase. As final words, there won’t be as there are no changes on top lane this patch I won’t really get into details on the champions and their builds. Please refer for info on what to pick to our blog from patch 10.1 and 10.2. However, in the upcoming 10.4 patch there seems to be some interesting changes to Sunfire Garen and “potentially” finally we will see the Wukong mini rework.

Top Tier list

Main Runes

Mordekaiser

Recently I’ve implemented a new build against ranged champions. As Mordekaiser doesn’t have any gap closer beside his e and using ultimate it’s sometimes hard to deal with a ranged champion. However, once you hit your e you can remove the ability of enemy ranged champion to run away but implementing just one auto-attack.

Magical footwear will give you a little extra speed as well and will save you 300 gold, future’s market will allow u to get your item components faster and the approach velocity will make sure the enemy won’t run. So you have a slowing glacial and 3 sources of bonus movement speed: passive, boots and velocity.

This will make your enemies unable to run away from you. As for secondary runes you want to take second wind for healing from their poke and revitalize for bonus healing and shielding from w. The biggest benefit however going this build is the ability to skip the Rylai's as you will have enough slow on w and enough speed from other sources. The downside is, of course, the lack of that damage from Conqueror and healing and being unable to use the action items for glacial poke, unless you go for Hextech Gunblade (refer to itemization post for further info)

Kled

These are still the best. Press The Attack against ranged and Conqueror against melee.

  • Jungler

10.3 has some nice buffs to jungle role but some champs are nerfed. Farmer jungle meta is slowly coming back but small buffs to Krugs are not enough for it. Sett and Ekko nerfs are pretty harsh, especially for Ekko. His early way to weak now. Sejuanis's attack speed buff puts her into a playable state. She can match early game junglers like Lee.

  • Mid

Patch 10.3 brought us a few buffs and nerfs for mid laners. A few control mid laners got buffed such as Azir, Corki and Galio meanwhile the ones that are dominating at the time being got a little nerfed like Akali and Diana. These buffs are simply not changing anything in the current mid lane meta for SoloQ. Hard snowballing champs with roaming potential just dominate this lane for a long time and just don't want to retire. Even with this buffs all the control champs like Ziggs, Azir, Orianna got too much punishment for assassins. The only nerf that is crucial in this patch is Akali q Energy cost form 100 to 120 at LVL 1. It's a huge deal in early laning faze that why we change a tier list a bit. Ekko got just nerfed for jungle monsters so we don't care about his placement at the mid lane.

Mid Tier List

Highlights for this patch:

Electrocute Qiyana – manage to be still one of the strongest picks. From the perspective of a mid laner player, these champions are just too OP. It has everything… Dash, snare, stun, stealth, roam potential even wave clear, but I think everyone is realizing that so if u can play qiyana effectively it's one of the best climbing choices.

Conqueror Diana – she manages to be the hipper pick. If Diana is Ahead she can just carry every team fight and win duels. She is pretty tanky champ with a lot of dmg incoming from nowhere so that players with a lot of experience can make their favor.

Electrocute LeBlanc – I think she is a little underrated. This champion has very strong LVL 3 and I played her a few times recently and I personally think she can be a decent pick vs Diana due to her ability to go back to the first ‘’W’’ use. The problem with lb is that if u are not snowballed you are not as effective as for example Cassio/Ryze/Qiyana because lack of cc and wave clear can be problematic in later stages of the game.

We rather come back to Phase Rush from Conqueror for Cassio and Ryze. (Runes #3)

Runes #1 are for Talon, Ekko, Fizz, Qiyana, Syndra

Runes #2 are for Kassadin, Katarina, Diana, Sylas, Yasuo

Going for:

- Phase rush

  • Support

Currently, tank engage support are the strongest, followed by defensive supports and lastly ranged supports. Teams require a hard engage since there is so much damage in the game and junglers can once again play as carry's with the jungle XP buffs, so either pick a tanky engage support or defensive tank support if you want to climb the ladder.
