EB24 ABOUT TEAMFIGHT TACTICS #14 - CURRENT META ON PATCH 10.7 FROM A BOOSTER PERSPECTIVE

With the nerf to rebels in 10.7, the meta has diversified into a slew of different builds. Every origin and trait are viable in some composition or another, and every comp can reasonably top 4.

A notable standout is a Mech-Infiltrator composition, which aims to assemble an unbeatable force in the form of 3* Shaco, 3* Kai’Sa, and 3* Mech units. This composition invests heavily in the economy for the early game, only rolling excess gold above 50 at levels 6 and 7 to stabilize. However, because of the reliance on 3* units, it is very important to be uncontested and only 1 or 2 players per lobby can go for this comp.

Chrono Kayle and 6 Cybernetic are another top tier composition in this meta. These two comps are bundled together because usually, Chrono Kayle will transition into 6 Cybernetic in the late game unless there are no good items for Irelia. Having only received a small nerf to Ekko, this composition is just as powerful as it is in 10.6 but has difficult matchups into Protectors and Star Guardian. Many top streamers mainly play this comp due to its flexibility with items and consistency in the top 4.

A new composition that arose because of Vel’koz buffs and Rebel nerfs is Void Brawler, featuring Vel’koz and Cho’gath as its two carries. This composition falls off in the mid to late game, relying on 3* Vel’koz and 3* Cho’gath to secure the top 2 finishes.

New comps have also risen in popularity as a result of the changing meta. In particular, the Star Guardian reroll strategy, which aims to 3* Neeko and Syndra, rose into prominence due to the power of Neeko in stopping Cybernetic and Mech Infiltrator.

Blademaster reroll is the final new composition in 10.7, emerging due to both the 6 Blademaster buffs and the Rebel nerfs. This comp aims to run 6 Blademaster with Kassadin and 3* every unit except Kayle and Irelia. This is one of the weakest comps still being run in high Elo, often placing bottom 4 even when uncontested.

The remaining viable comps include Protectors, Jhin with Vanguards, and 6 Dark Star with Jhin/Shaco carry. These play the same as they do on patch 10.6, and are largely unchanged.

Comps to run for patch 10.7

Cybernetic

When to go?

If you find early cybernetic units, such as Fiora, Lucian, and Leona.

Roll for this composition at level 7 for Irelia 2*, and Level 8 for Ekko. Cybernetics gain additional health and damage by holding an item, so try to split your items among your units.

Lucian is a great user of Red Buff, Leona can use Zephyr or Redemption, and Vi can use Frozen Heart as well as Ionic Spark, but your main carry is Irelia, so focus on stacking her with items such as Infinity Edge (core), Guardian Angel, and Bloodthirster. Since you will get Ekko often only appears after you’ve committed your items, he gets any leftovers.

Mech Infiltrators

When to go?

If you find multiple pairs of Kai’Sa and Kha’Zix, look to run this comp.

Kai’Sa and Kha’zix are your early game pickups. Finding early Shaco will also help force this comp. This is a slow roll comp, which means you want to get to level 6 and stay above 50 gold, only rolling interest gold each round. You want to make at least two 3 stars before leveling to 7.

Important items for the comp would include Morello and Seraph’s on Kai’Sa, Quicksilver and Titan’s Resolve on Mecha units, and Infinity Edge and Bloodthirster on Shaco.

Star Guardian - E-girls

When to go?

Go for this composition whenever you open with multiple tears.

Roll for Star Guardians on 6 until you stabilize to being even/mostly winning. Then, level to 7 and put in 6 Star Guardian 4 Sorcerer, rolling gold above 50 until you’ve 3 starred Syndra and Neeko. Level to 8 and put in Lulu for Mystic, or drop Poppy for 6 Sorcerer 6 Star Guardian if you have a Star Guardian Spatula.

The Star Guardian reroll strategy is heavily reliant on Syndra to output most of your team’s damage. At least one copy of Seraph’s on Syndra is crucial for the top 4, and two Seraph’s are important for winning the lobby. Neeko should be itemized with tank items such as Ionic Spark, Guardian Angel, and Titan’s Resolve. Items on other units aren’t important, but Ahri and Lux are good places to dump them.
