AION 2 Server Transfer Guide: Rules, Limits and What to Do If Your Server Is Empty
AION 2 server transfers opened on October 14, 2026, are free at first, only move characters between servers of the same faction, and characters made on Advance Access servers can only transfer to other Advance Access servers, not to the launch servers. That is what NCSOFT's global notice of September 30 confirms. Prices after the free period and a full list of what carries over have not been published.

Why the Faction Rule Exists
Every AION 2 server hosts one faction only. An Elyos server has no Asmodians on it. So a transfer is not a way to switch sides, it is a way to join friends on a different server of the faction you already picked. If you rolled the wrong faction, a transfer will not fix it. Advance Access Servers vs Launch Servers
Global opened in two waves: Advance Access servers on September 30 for Founder's Pack owners, and launch servers on October 5 for everyone. NCSOFT used the transfer announcement as a reason to accept a recommended server instead of sitting in a long queue at launch, because transfers would let you consolidate later.
The catch is that the two groups do not mix. An Advance Access character can move to another Advance Access server, but not onto a launch server. If your friends started on October 5 and you started on September 30, a transfer will not put you on their server.
Do You Even Need to Transfer?
Maybe not. All instanced content, including dungeons, is cross-server. You can already run dungeons with friends on other servers of your faction. A transfer only matters for open-world content, guilds, the Market on that server and server-based PvP.
What Is Still Unknown
As of early October, NCSOFT's global notices do not state the price after the free window, exactly what carries over, or whether there is a level requirement. For reference, the Korean service's paid transfers required level 45, ran in limited windows, capped transfers per account per window, and could not be reversed once completed. Global may differ, so read the in-game notice before you commit.
