Arc Raiders' next major update, Frozen Trail, lands on October 8, 2026, and Embark has called it the largest update since the game launched.

It is also the first big drop since Embark moved Arc Raiders to two major content updates a year. That makes Frozen Trail a much bigger event than the monthly patches players got used to. Here is everything Embark has confirmed, and what it means for how you should prepare.

New Map: Pendola Pass

The headline addition is a brand new map beyond the mountains that surround the Rust Belt.

Pendola Pass is an old Italian village and former Exodus transport hub, preserved in ice. Expect the remains of ordinary life, a supermarket and an empty town square, alongside Exodus Project infrastructure: an observatory and a buried train depot.

The reason Raiders are heading there is dramatic. One of the Emperors has fallen, and the rare technology inside is the prize. Getting to it means dealing with a scrambled ARC response and brutal flash freezes that sweep through the valley.

The Frigate

A fallen Emperor gets a reaction. ARC sends one of its largest vessels to patrol the area, and players have already nicknamed it the Frigate.

The Frigate is built as a challenge for highly skilled Raiders. You need to find a way aboard, work through its internal passageways, unlock routes, and fight both new and returning ARC units. Crucially, other Raiders will be after the same prize, so expect to either cooperate or fight your way through, in close quarters, high above the ground.

Three New ARC Enemies

• Bully: an aggressive, machine learned enemy that charges your position and brings a range of lethal attacks. Cover and timing matter.

• Skulker: the opposite approach. It waits at the edges of your vision, strikes, then retreats out of sight. Lose track of it and you will feel it.

• Hydra: a stationary turret made of three stacked, independent sections, each with its own weaponry. Found aboard the Frigate, it is built to punish squads that do not split its attention.

The Outpost: An Extension of Your Raider Den

Frozen Trail adds a new home base between the Rust Belt and the mountains. The Outpost can be customised with modules and furnished inside, and it houses the Research Workstation, which unlocks higher levels of weapon customisation and modding.

Embark describes it as the start of a larger feature that will keep expanding.

Amplified Weapons: A Fifth Quality Level

This is the change late game players will care about most.

With a fully upgraded Research Workstation, you can unlock a fifth quality level for a range of weapons, with branching ability paths that can change how a gun behaves entirely. Embark's own examples include a fully automatic Burletta, a scoped Renegade, and a Rattler with incendiary rounds and a 64 round magazine.

It launches on 15 weapons, with more planned. The goal is to give veteran players a reason to use guns beyond their usual favourites.

New Weapons, Gadgets and Toys

• Stiletto: a light ammo battle rifle positioned as a cheap early game alternative to the Renegade. Accurate if you control your fire rate.

• Bantam: a snub nosed heavy ammo revolver with unique hip fire capability.

• Grappling Hook: climb, abseil, and swing across gaps.

• Tether Launcher: connect two points with a wire and root targets in place, or tether Raiders to ARC and watch them get dragged away.

• Yank Grenade: explodes and violently pulls a nearby target, useful for dragging flying ARC down or pulling Raiders out of cover.

• Camera: a full camera gadget with zoom, aperture, focus control, and a selfie mode. Photos save to your Codex.

• Instruments: the Harmonica, and the Banjo via the Collector Set.

• Weapon Stencils: reskin your guns. Other Raiders can take them off your corpse.

The New Reward Pass

Frozen Trail replaces Raider Decks with Reward Passes, in three tiers:

• Free Pass: rewards unlocked by completing Feats, including 200 Raider Tokens, five new outfits, new gameplay items, and 20 cosmetics.

• Premium Pass: premium toggles for the outfits, exclusive colourways, weapon stencils, hairstyles, and 1,150 Raider Tokens.

• Legacy Pass: free for everyone. It combines all existing Raider Decks, so you do not lose progress you have already made.

There is also a Collector Set DLC that includes both the free and premium passes, a new cosmetic set, a weapon stencil, a hairstyle, and 2,400 Raider Tokens.

Embark has also confirmed new questlines, a Skill Tree rework with new and improved skills, and a new Map Condition. Separately, it is currently testing a PvE toggle, which is worth watching if you prefer fighting ARC to fighting other players.

How to Prepare Before October 8

Level your Raider now. Frozen Trail's best content, from the Frigate to Amplified Weapons, is aimed at players who are already strong. The Research Workstation needs to be fully upgraded before the fifth quality level opens, so anything you do to progress before launch pays off on day one.

Stock materials. A new crafting tier and a new base both mean new material demand. Arriving with a full stash is better than grinding it after everyone else.

Find a squad. The Frigate is designed around contested, close quarters play. Going in solo against coordinated teams is a hard way to learn it.
