An Age-Up Potion in Adopt Me adds 30 tasks' worth of aging progress to a pet that is still growing, and you earn one every time a Full Grown pet fills a friendship level (30 completed needs). That makes friendship farming the only reliable repeatable source, with Lures and limited events as extras.

  • Effect: 30 tasks of aging progress per potion

  • Main source: one potion per friendship level on a Full Grown pet

  • Works on: pets that are still growing, not eggs and not Full Grown pets

  • Standard potions cannot be traded

How to get Age-Up Potions

Once a pet reaches Full Grown, its aging bar turns into a friendship bar. Every 30 needs you complete fill one friendship level and pay out one potion. There is no cap on levels, so the same pet can keep feeding you potions for as long as you keep caring for it. Pet Pens do not count, so you have to meet the needs yourself.

The second source is Lures: you place a Lure, add bait and an Age-Up Potion is one possible reward. The drop is random, and published chances for specific baits have changed over time, so treat it as a bonus and not a plan.

The third source is events. Past events such as the Winter Festival and the Garden Hop Obby have paid out potions, and the rewards differ from event to event, so check the current reward list before you count on one. If you also need cash for supplies, our guide to getting Bucks fast in Adopt Me covers the quickest routes.

How to farm potions faster

2x weekends are the best time to farm. During them pets earn double aging experience, so a friendship level needs only 15 tasks instead of 30, while the potion itself still gives a full 30 tasks of progress. Keep a Lure running while you work through needs so you collect both sources at the same time.

Keep one Full Grown pet as your dedicated friendship pet. It stays useful long after it finished growing, and it is far cheaper than raising a new pet from Newborn just to farm. If you are new to the game, our Adopt Me tips for new and returning players explain how needs and pet care work.

How to use an Age-Up Potion

  1. Equip the pet you want to grow.

  2. Open your inventory and select the Age-Up Potion.

  3. Confirm. The pet instantly gains 30 tasks of aging progress.

Do not burn a potion when a pet only needs a few more tasks. If it is 10 tasks from the next stage, finish those by hand and save the potion for a pet that needs much more.

How many potions does each rarity need?

Eldorado reports that the September 2025 pet-aging rework set the needs from Newborn to Full Grown by rarity, and we could not confirm these figures on a second source, so check the in-game numbers before you plan a big project. Dividing by 30 and rounding up gives the potion counts below for a completely fresh pet.

A Neon needs four Full Grown pets and a Mega Neon needs four Full Grown Neons, so multiply the numbers above before you start. Finish any friendship level you are close to completing before you combine pets, because partial progress does not carry over. Eldorado reports the Super version sold for 225 Robux and could take even a Legendary pet from Newborn to Full Grown in one use. That price comes from a single source and the offer is not always available. If you spend Robux, read our explainer on top-ups, gift cards and in-game currency first, so you pick the safest way to pay.
