EB24 about Teamfight Tactics #11 - Current meta on Patch 10.4 from a Booster perspective

Over the course of the patch, more and more players began running Inferno, Shadow, and Sum Sins. These builds utilize 3 star carries in Kindred and Azir to carry the midgame. As a result, the meta definitely sped up.

Important Changes

Poison, Crystal, Taric have all received nerfs, this may have an impact on rangers-hyper roll preds. With the meta slowly becoming faster, these comps may not be able to keep up unless you are able to high roll or find your units uncontested.

Senna - Lucian both got the ability damage buffs which may spark interest in Soulbound light comps.

Olaf and Glacial got slight buffs with the buff to Glacial coming in the form of a rework. Olaf will be slightly tankier and deal more damage.

Champion Changes:

Ornn Spell Damage: 100/200/300 ⇒ 125/250/450 has received another small damage buff to his ability, but with Electric Wardens not being consistent enough to break into the top meta, this buff will likely just affect the early game when you want 2 wardens.

Taliyah Starting/Total Mana: 50/80 ⇒ 30/80 nerf to her ability mana as she can be quite annoying in the early game or even mid-game, the idea behind the nerf was that she can’t ult right away if you put him on an ocean hex.

Senna Ally Damage Bonus: 15/40/65 ⇒ 20/45/70 she had little play recently, except as an addition to 6 shadow comps. This may help her a bit, as well to the Soulbound combo.

Azir Starting/Total Mana: 75/100 ⇒ 50/100 mana nerf with not much impact on him as a unit, remains a very strong mid-game carry.

Lucian Spell Attack Damage Ratio: 0.3/0.4/0.5 ⇒ 0.5/0.5/0.5 decent buff to his ability damage, as the main Light carry this could make the comp more viable.

Olaf Health: 750 ⇒ 850 and Spell Bonus Attack Speed 100%/150%/450% ⇒ 125%/150%/450% with these small buffs to his 1-star ability and base health, he may be a contender against the other 4 cost carries again.

Singed Spell Damage: 150/300/2000 ⇒ 225/300/2000 received a decent damage buff to his 1 star rating. This will help him be effective in faster meta

Taric Invulnerability Duration: 3/3/5 ⇒ 2.5/2.5/8 this combined with the crystal nerfs will definitely tone down the power level of Taric late game.

Comps to run for Patch 10.4

Shadows Comp

When to go?

This comp is very flexible with the units and items, you can open it with pretty much anything. Your win condition is going to be: 6 shadows with Master Yi. Roll at 6 for Kindred-Sion plus any shadow, and you can run any upgraded unit with them, inferno, wardens, lunar, glacial, etc. Stabilize and go to 8, put in the mystic, frontline, whatever until you get Yi. Grab other shadows and play 6 shadows 2 mystics 2 clouds with Janna plus Yasuo/Qiyana on cloud map. Items that you want for the comp: Zephyr is really good so your units don’t waste time against the frontline. Kindred and Yi are going to be your main carry units. Good Kindred items: Rageblade, Hextech gunblade, Rabadon, RFC, Seraphs, Thief’s, Hoj. For Master Yi items: BT, Dclaw, GA, Rageblade, RFC, Ghostblade, Thief’s glove, Hoj, Infinity Edge.

Hyperroll Predators

When to go? 

Go for this comp if you get KogMaw 2star early, and at least one Luden’s or Statikk Shiv. You don’t want to lose any gold on useless units, sell everything that’s not a predator in stage 2 for the economy. You should not use your gold to level up since you will need your economy to 3 star your Predators. Staying lower level is going to increase your chance of hitting them, mainly you want to focus on 3 staring your KogMaw. From items, you want to focus on Shiv-Ludens on KogMaw, Morello on Singed, Bramble Vest on Skarner, any other AD items you can stack on Twitch or Ashe. As your last level 8 unit, you can use pretty much anyone, Taric is my favorite pick since he gives you more frontline and +1 Crystal unit, Crystal-Cloud-Steel Lux is not a bad choice either if you can hit any of them.

6 Lights – Lunar

When to go? 

Early Nasus 2Star+ Vayne 2Star, and a GA is a very good indicator for lights. At 6 you can play 3 Lights with Lunar and, 2Wardens + 2 Rangers. Vayne can be used to hold items for Lucian. At level 7 you want to add 6 lights + Mystic and replace your Vayne items to Lucian. GA has to go on Yorick since its a core item on him. You want to focus on stacking Lucian and Yorick with items. Good items on Lucian would be Giant Slayer, Hush, Hand of Justice, Jeweled Gauntlet. For Yorick, you want to build: GA, DCLAW, redemption, Warmog, Thief’s glove, Quicksilver, Trap claw. Infinity Edge+ Jeweled Gauntlet is a great Lucian combo, as well stacking Giant Slayers works well on him.

Rangers - Poison

When to go?

If you start your game with some Bows-Bf swords. Early game you can use Kog'Maw and Predators, they can provide you a strong start, mid-game you should start picking up core pieces for your comp and based on what you get and how fast transition out of Predators. As well-paired Rangers + Wardens can be used for early game. Twitch should be your main carry, so stack him with Infinity Edge-Last Whisper-Guinsoo, Ashe can be used as your second carry, Statikk Shiv works good on her, as well Red Buff+Hurricane can help a lot. Any other items that you can’t use can go on your front line, such as Morello for Singed, Frozen Heart, Redemption, Warmogs.
