Wild Rift Ranking System Explained - EB24 guide

What are the ranks in Wild Rift? The League of Legends Wild Rift all ranks players according to its tier list. The in-game criteria to climb the ranks tier list require understanding the basic rules as you progress. Once you've understood how all Wild Rift ranks work, you can jump from your current rank to the next tier with less frustration.

We'll make that easier for you as we define the ranks in League of Legends Wild Rift. We'll break things down based on all ranks in LoL Wild Rift while playing ranked game mode.

Wild Rift and League of Legends Rank Tiers and Divisions

How many ranks are in Wild Rift? There are 11 rank tiers according to the Wild Rift ranks distribution layout. Between Iron and Diamond, each rank has four divisions. They are:

  • Iron

    • IV

    • III

    • II

    • I

  • Bronze (IV-I)

    • IV

    • III

    • II

  • Silver (IV-I)

  • Gold (IV-I)

  • Platinum (IV-I)

  • Diamond (IV-I)

    • IV

    • III

    • II

    • I

Those are all the ranks in Wild Rift with their divisions. According to the average ranks on WildRift, most players sit in Silver and Gold. Players in Platinum ranks and above, playing against players in the higher LoL Wild Rift ranks becomes more competitive. This means it's tougher to win matches and further climb the Wild Rift ranks.

The highest of the LoL Wild Rift ranks list are:

  • Master

  • Grandmaster

  • Challenger

  • Sovereign

Starting with Master, the LoL Wild Rift all ranks the tier levels according to its Elo ranking system. As important as it is to score victory points and win important matches, it's equally important to avoid losing matches. Too many matches lost will result in rank demotions. If you're determined to avoid such a fate as you strive for the Master rank and higher ranks, we recommend working with an Eloboost24 boosting and/or coaching service. Its team features players who can compete at a professional level and teach you everything you need to know so you can source the highest LoL ranks in Wild Rift.

How the LoL Wild Rift Ranking System Works

Understanding the ranking system in Wild Rift is crucial as it is divided into four divisions. Again, the Wild Rift ranks in order are: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, and Diamond. There was a time when Challenger was LoL's top rank. As the popularity of the game grew, too many players reached this rank. This led to Sovereign, a new rank to resolve this problem.

Even though Master, Grandmaster, Challenger, and Sovereign don't openly display it, they also have four divisions. Players in these ranks merely earn ranked marks as much as possible to progress from one tier level to the next. The competition within these ranks is fierce. Even if you reach the Sovereign tier in Wild Rift, you must continue earning Rank Marks. Only the highest-ranking players make it into the regional leaderboards that are reset daily.

Requirements For Rank Marks Per Division

All ranks in Wild Rift rely on a rank mark system. It's a progressive tracking system determining the ranks LoL Wild Rift has listed. Instead of losing League points like in LoL, Wild Rift earns ranked marks for winning games. You also lose marks for losing games, except for the Iron and Bronze divisions.

Here is how the number of ranked marks per division needed to rank up in each tier works:

  • Iron - 2 Marks

  • Bronze - 3 Marks

  • Silver - 3 Marks

  • Gold - 4 Marks

  • Platinum - 4 Marks

  • Emerald - 5 Marks

  • Diamond - 6 Marks

  • Master - 1 Mark (Minimum)

  • Grandmaster - 30 Marks (Minimum)

  • Challenger - 60 Marks (Minimum)

  • Sovereign - 100 Marks (Minimum)

Observe the ranked marks increasing as you climb the Wild Rift's ranking system ladder. Unlike LoL, Wild Rift does not feature a promotion series once you reach 100 League points. You're immediately promoted once you've earned enough ranked marks.

Challenger Rank and Placement Matches: Climb the Wild Rift Ranking System Explained

Are placement matches necessary to start experiencing Wild Rift's ranked rewards? No. Since the Season 3 update, once you reach level 10 and have 16 Legends, you can play ranked matches directly. Once you've reached your first tier level, you face players with a similar challenger rank. From there, it's up to you to master champion knowledge and crucial strategies, especially if you wish to jump from Master to Sovereign.

Goodbye Victory Points, Hello Legendary Queue

Wild Rift players no longer receive Victory Points as they've been replaced with Legendary Queue. This is a solo-ranked queue experience for elite-level Wild Rift players. It has its own MMR separate from Ranked, boasting a leadership board showcasing the top 100 players in each region. Players must be ranked between the Diamond and Sovereign rank levels to find themselves on these prestigious leaderboards.

The Legendary Queue (LQ) Tiers and Divisions are:

  • Warrior

    • IV

    • III

    • II

    • I

  • Commander

    • IV

    • III

    • II

    • I

  • Guardian

    • IV

    • III

    • II

    • I

  • Vanquisher

    • IV

    • III

    • II

    • I

  • Immortal

    • IV

    • III

    • II

    • I

  • Legend

Players start at Commander IV with 800 Legendary Points. 200 LP is needed to move from one level to the next. If a player fails to play for seven days, LP decay will start. They’ll lose 40 LP per week until they return to LQ or drop to 800 LP.

What is the Wild Rift Players Rank Fortitude System?

The Wild Rift rank fortitude system is rewarded to players between the Iron and Sovereign rank levels in ranked matches. It appears as a ranked fortitude bar under your rank icon. Players can earn a certain maximum for each rank in normal games. The point caps for each rank are:

  • Iron: 250

  • Bronze: 300

  • Silver: 350

  • Gold: 400

  • Platinum: 450

  • Emerald: 500

  • Diamond: 550

  • Master: 600

  • Grandmaster: 600

  • Challenger: 600

  • Sovereign: 600

Rank Fortitude is accumulated across levels as it carries over between tiers. There is also a Loss Shield which is automatically activated when you earn ranked fortitude to the maximum in your current rank level. It prevents you from losing a rank badge for losing matches in Wild Rift. You also earn two ranked marks per win when your ranked fortitude bar is full.

Ranked Fortitude is gained by winning games and good gaming performance. This includes playing through a game while your team is struggling. You also gain fortitude by auto-filling missions, playing the day's first game, and receiving compensation for playing with bad players. The key is to play daily, maintain winning streaks, and good sportsmanship, and stay active.

On the flip side, you'll lose Fortitude for prematurely quitting a game and for bad player behavior. You'll also lose Fortitude if you're marked as an AFK in the game. The weekly cap for Fortitude is 1200 and resets every Monday at 00:01 UTC.

Wild Rift Ranked Rewards

Wild Rift offers in-game rewards for players who participate in Ranked game modes. The further up you go, the more rewards players get. The current season's ranked skin emotes and other items are sent as Ranked rewards to appreciate your accomplishments. Although much of this is sent as a ranked reward at the end of the season, some are sent mid-season for reaching certain tier levels. Check your ranked rewards sections in the Riot Games client to see if received anything new.
