Brookhaven RP Guide: Best Roles and How to Roleplay Properly
One of the most popular games on Roblox is Brookhaven RP, with over 50 million active players. Why? Because it’s fun to build stories and live virtual city lives! Whether you’re a newcomer or a veteran, our guide will show you how to play the game smarter. This includes finding the best roles, plus how to roleplay properly. This includes learning ideal house setups and job strategies (and secrets to avoid boring routines).
What Makes Brookhaven RP Worth Your Time?
With over 80 roles across 5 categories (Arts, Family, Outside, Service, and Shops), this game offers variety. It allows character customization that includes the world they live in. This applies to their homes, vehicles, and wardrobe. Brookhaven RP is vast and frequently evolves, thanks to the updates.
Brookhaven RP doesn’t have any loot drops or enemies you need to take on. It’s all about community-driven stories. Each time you step into Brookhaven, you’ll always encounter new challenges as other players conjure up their own storyline ideas.
What Are the Best Roleplay Options to Play in Brookhaven RP?
The best roles in the game are helpful, but it’s even better when you actively interact with the Brookhaven RP community. We’ve laid out 5 scenarios pulled from the game and pushed them into more creative directions.
BHDD (Brookhaven Detective Department)
Players forming their own detective team can create and work on their own cases to solve mysteries. These can include unsolved crimes and locating missing money, objects, or people.
Using the game’s Hidden Vault inside the Brookhaven Bank would make a great storyline start. You (and your team) can work with the police department and drive around the cop cars, or go independent. Perhaps, you’re a group of teenage sleuths out to expose school scandals and the culprit(s) involved.
BNN (Brookhaven News Network)
Reporting the news is a great way to interact with the community and keep things exciting. Maybe use actual events in the game, or come up with fictional stories and make them sound like news. An easy way to break the ice with new players is to approach them like a reporter and ask a simple question as part of a news survey. Questions like, “What’s your favorite Brookhaven landmark?” are tame enough. From there, you can go with a “Did you know” to trigger a storyline, or continue interviewing other players and tally the votes you can share as a news story.
One player can assume the role of news anchor while another reports the news directly from the scene. You can reel in other players by interviewing their characters as witnesses as they tell their own stories. Perhaps chase after a scandal that includes questioning the culprits behind it.
Another player can serve as a camera operator, either on the scene or at the newsdesk. Use popular landmark locations such as Haven Mall & Grocery Store and Brookhaven School (for student reporters).
High School Play
Inside the school, set up an audience with assigned seats and have a drama class teacher round up 3 or 4 students to do some stage theatre. Whether it be rehearsals or the stage production itself, this has a recipe that can have little stories unfold with the big one.
This is ideal for a group that often plays together, or as an icebreaker for strangers to team up to create something memorable.
Secret Agent Society
Here’s a great way to play off Brookhaven’s Dark Agency core storyline. Use the hidden and underground areas to create and carry out covert operations. What a great way to make use of the game’s Underground Bunker!
Form your own central intelligence agency and use its operatives to spy on your neighbors for potential threats. Maybe someone can go undercover and work behind enemy lines to uncover a murderous plot or thwart a major heist.
Twisted Family Matters
Ah, the family life! Living in the suburbs has its perks, doesn’t it? Hey, don’t be fooled! Sometimes, the most pristine neighborhoods have the most drama!
Perhaps your typical family has a mom who is a cop who has the midnight shift at the Poice Station, and the dad works as a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital. They have three kids; one is a troubled teen with authority issues, another is a start student in junior high, and the third is a toddler experiencing the “terrible twos.”
Perhaps this family has a mysterious nanny who isn’t all that she seems to be. Maybe the gardener has some buried secrets that need to be uncovered. And how about those neighbors? Are they too good to be true, or are they a thorn in your side?
What About Roleplay Jobs?
Working a virtual job in Brookhaven RP doesn’t have a progression tree. These are merely to give your character purpose. There are 6 job options in total. Here’s a breakdown of what they are:
JOB/ROLE | WORK LOCATION | KEY ITEMS |
Banker | Brookhaven Bank | Financial Documents |
Doctor/Nurse | St. Luke’s Hospital | Defibrillator First Aid Kit Stretcher |
Firefighter | Citywide | Emergency Vehicle Ladder Tools |
News Reporter | Citywide | Camera Smartphone |
Police Officer | Police Station | Patrol Car Pistol Taser |
Teacher | Brookhaven School | Notebook Tablet School Bus |
Brookhaven RP’s job system is meant to encourage players to work with each other to tell a story. Notable sessions often feature multiple job roles interacting with each other, much like how a movie scene plays out.
Such a storyline may include a bomb threat at a school where the teacher contacts emergency. This brings in firefighters and police, and, of course, the media. The potential to unravel a great story may include an overambitious reporter trying to get inside the school, but is blocked off by a police officer. Meanwhile, firefighters are inside trying to locate the bomb and diffuse it before it’s too late.
A similar storyline can be carried out using the bank or hospital instead of the school. Maybe even the news station itself.
What About Best Household Themes?
The beauty of using your home and neighborhood is the flurry of options at your disposal. Are you living in the lap of luxury, or are you considered “trailer park trash?”
Well-decorated spaces are major draws for other players to jump in on the action. This makes it easy to dictate what kind of roleplay you want to run. Since the Haunted Mansion property was added to the game in October 2025, you have the option to spook everyone out with dim lights and all sorts of hidden horrors.
Beautifully designed gated communities are a perfect haven for high-class living. Perhaps the neighborhood has a celebrity who is the CEO of a major tech company living next door. Now, are they friends or are they rivals? Maybe they’re having a secret affair their respective spouses don’t know about (yet).
Maybe your home and neighborhood have more in common with the low or middle class. For the most part, everyone goes about their business. Perhaps they’ll have a block party or hold a backyard BBQ where family and friends meet. This scenario can be relaxing, where everything is kosher, or dramatic if someone in the group decides to act out.
You can also go futuristic with a hideout that features neon lighting, tech furniture, and a secret lab. (This works well if you’re a secret agent.)
The Best Storylines for Social Engagement
If you want storylines that are sure to bring players together, it needs to have four key elements to keep it interesting. They are:
Conflict: Characters need a crisis they can react to. This can be a crime, a mystery, or a rivalry.
Goals: Every character needs a goal to achieve. Set an objective like finding clues and objects to help the storyline along. Characters also need a personal goal. Maybe the rivalry has one character either wishing to make amends or carry out an act of revenge.
Surprises (Twists): Nothing like a monkey wrench to turn the seemingly obvious into a “WTF” moment. It’s a great way to reset energies and rethink strategies. (Maybe the rivalry was faked to fool the neighborhood or workplace, and the players are learning this the hard way.)
Closure: End the story with something concrete. Maybe the rivalry (faked or not) ends with either a peaceful resolution or the forceful elimination of one of the rivals. These outcomes may or may not come with sequels.
The most successful storylines are usually planned out between friends. They’re mapped out, from start to finish, with assigned roles and desired goals. However, don’t be too rigid about it, as the goal is to have fun. Leave room to improvise, and have fun with unpredictable moments that can liven up player energy.
The Great Server Debate: Public or Private?
Which server is best to use when playing Brookhaven RP? That depends on what you want. Both of them are free, and each have their own set of purposes. Knowing which one works best for you will help save lots of frustration.
A Public Server works for new players and spontaneity. This is also ideal to run News Crew scenarios where real events happen. If improvisations are your thing, this should work for you. This is also where you go to explore the map and discover hidden secrets at your own pace.
Private Servers are ideal for multiplayer storylines that are planned out. Every player will have their assigned roles and goals to fulfill. You also have the privacy to build house setups without disruption from other players.
Serious RP players and groups prefer the private servers as they remove certain barriers when using them. It allows them to run a structured session that allows a better gameplay experience. Although randomness can be fun, if it breaks the flow too much, it’s enough to frustrate storytellers who want something that feels like a masterpiece.
What Are the Hidden Brookhaven RP Secrets Worth Hunting?
According to Brookhaven’s official fan site, the game has more than 25 hidden locations and 12 “easter eggs.” Among the worthiest secrets to find in the game, there are:
Alien Evidence: Hunt down the artifacts and crop circles for evidence of ET activity.
Mysterious Laboratory: You’ll find this underneath the city, along with documents and equipment.
Secret Buttons: These are found throughout the map and trigger passages and the unexpected.
Time Portals: Shift back and forth between yesterday, today, and tomorrow(ish) events revolving around Brookhaven.
Underground Bunker: There is a mysterious military base with classified info on the island that time has apparently forgotten.
Better Roleplay Session Quick Tips
To make the most out of your Brookhaven RP experience, stay in character from start to finish. This keeps the storyline feeling organic, and it won’t disrupt everyone’s gameplay immersion. What’ll help is sticking to a vehicle that suits your character’s role. If your role is a firefighter, you won’t be convincing driving around a police motorcycle.
Using proper spelling and grammar will help with scenes involving dialogue. Not only does this show commitment from your end, but it makes it easier for other players to follow what you’re saying. Also, respect the game’s community standards at all times. This includes refraining from insulting and trolling other players, even if they don’t seem to be meshing with what you’re trying to do.
It also doesn’t hurt to buy a Brookhaven RP account that has achieved at least some perks that’ll improve your gameplay experience. Visit the EB24 Marketplace to learn more about them.
