League of Legends wins calculator FAQ

What a net win is, how the LP count works, why your LP gains differ from the assumption, and why Master is the last fixed target.

  • How does the LoL wins calculator work?

It reads your current tier, division and LP for the queue you pick through the official Riot API, then counts the LP between that and the floor of your target rank. Every division is 100 LP wide, so Silver II 40 LP to Gold IV is 60 LP to finish Silver II, 100 LP through Silver I, 160 LP in total. Divided by the LP a win pays you, that is the number of net wins.

  • What is a net win?

One more win than loss. Ten games at 6W/4L are two net wins. Ranked LP moves roughly one win up and one loss down, so net wins are what actually carry you to the next division, not games played.

  • How many games will it take?

That depends on your win rate. At 55% you net one win every ten games, at 60% one every five, at 50% none on average. The result shows the games at 55%, 60%, 65% and 70% side by side and highlights the tile closest to your season win rate, so you can see how much a better win rate shortens the climb.

  • Why do I gain less LP than the calculator assumes?

LP gains follow your hidden MMR. If your MMR sits below your rank you gain less and lose more; if it sits above, the opposite. The calculator assumes 22 LP a win, the middle of what most players see; if your wins pay less, expect a few more net wins than shown. Our LoL MMR checker shows where your MMR sits against your rank.

  • Why can I not pick Grandmaster or Challenger as a target?

Master is the last rank with a fixed entry: 0 LP once you leave Diamond I. Grandmaster and Challenger are cutoffs that move every day with the top of the ladder, so there is no fixed LP to count to. Our LP cutoff tracker shows the live threshold per server.

  • Do you need my password or a login?

No. We only use your Riot ID (GameName#TAG) to read the public ranked data any opponent can see on your profile. We never ask for a password, email or verification code.

  • How many wins from Silver to Gold?

From Silver IV at 0 LP to Gold IV is 400 LP: four divisions of 100 LP each. At 22 LP a win that is 19 net wins; at a 55% win rate about 190 games, at 60% about 95. Start from a higher Silver division or with LP in hand and the count drops accordingly. Run the calculator with your Riot ID for the exact figure.

  • How many wins from Gold to Platinum, or Platinum to Diamond?

Every full tier is the same 400 LP, so Gold IV to Platinum IV, Platinum IV to Emerald IV and Emerald IV to Diamond IV each cost about 19 net wins at 22 LP a win. What changes higher up is the LP per win: gains tend to shrink around Diamond as your MMR settles, which is why the calculator lets you read the tiles at several win rates.

  • Does the calculator work for Flex queue?

Yes. Pick Flex in the queue selector and the calculator reads your Flex tier, division and LP instead of Solo/Duo. The two queues are separate ladders with separate LP, so a Solo/Duo rank tells the calculator nothing about Flex.

  • What if I do not want to grind the wins myself?

Division boosting on EB24 puts a verified Challenger booster on the climb, on your account or as a duo, with the payment held in escrow until the rank lands. Net wins boosting sells the wins one at a time, and coaching raises the win rate the games estimate depends on. The result page links straight to the boost for the exact ranks you entered.

Behind the number

How the LoL wins calculator works

Your rank comes from the official Riot API and the rest is ladder arithmetic you can check by hand. Here is the exact path from the Riot ID you type to the net wins and games you read.

1

Enter your region, queue and Riot ID Pick the region your account plays on, choose Solo/Duo or Flex, and type your full Riot ID in the GameName#TAG format. We never ask for a password or login; everything we read is public ranked data.

2

We read your current rank and LP Your tier, division, LP and win/loss record for that queue come straight from the official Riot API, the same numbers anyone can see on your profile. No manual rank picking, so the starting point is never wrong.

3

Pick the rank you want and we count the LP Every division is 100 LP wide, so the distance from where you stand to the floor of your target is plain arithmetic. Master is the ceiling: Grandmaster and Challenger are cutoffs that move every day, not fixed LP.

4

Read the games at your win rate Net wins are the LP divided by what a win pays you. Games follow from your win rate: at 55% you net one win every ten games, so the win rate matters more than any other number. The tiles show 55% to 70% and mark the one closest to your season.

How the LoL Wins Calculator Counts Your Climb

Every ranked division in League of Legends is 100 LP wide, and the ladder runs Iron IV to Diamond I before Master. That makes the distance between any two ranks plain arithmetic: the LP left in your current division, plus 100 for every division in between. Divide it by what a win pays you and you have the number of net wins between you and the rank you want.

For a fast feel: a full tier (four divisions, 400 LP) is about 19 net wins at 22 LP a win. At a 55% win rate that is roughly 190 games; at 60% it is 95. Type your Riot ID above and the calculator reads your exact rank and LP from Riot, so you never have to guess where you stand. If you would rather not grind them, LoL division boosting covers the same climb on your account.

The three numbers behind every count

Your current rank and LP
Read live from the Riot API for the queue you pick. A Gold account at 80 LP is 20 LP from the next division; the same account at 0 LP is 100 LP away. The calculator never asks you to type your rank, so this input is never wrong.
LP per win
What one victory pays you right now. Most players sit between 18 and 28 LP; the calculator assumes 22 and that a loss costs the same. Your own gains follow your hidden MMR, which the MMR checker below estimates.
Win rate
Turns net wins into games. A net win is one more win than loss, so at 55% you net one win every ten games and at 60% one every five. The result tiles show four win rates side by side; your season win rate is highlighted.
Master as the ceiling
Master starts at 0 LP the moment you leave Diamond I, so it is the last rank the calculator can count to. Grandmaster and Challenger are cutoffs that move with the top of the ladder every day, not fixed LP.

Net wins by rank

The table below shows the LP between the floors of neighbouring tiers and the net wins that distance costs at the default 22 LP a win. Use it as a quick reference; the calculator above does the same sum from your exact LP.

Whole tiers are measured floor to floor. Your own count starts from the LP you already hold, so it is always this number or less.

What Changes How Many Wins You Need

The LP distance is fixed by the ladder. What changes is how much of it each game covers, and that comes down to a handful of things you can actually read on your profile.

What actually moves the count

  • LP per win: the single biggest lever. 28 LP a win against 18 LP is a third fewer net wins for the same climb
  • Win rate: net wins stay the same, but the games it takes to collect them fall fast as the win rate rises
  • Hidden MMR: an MMR ahead of your rank pays more LP per win and takes less per loss, so the climb shortens on both ends
  • Demotion shields and division floors: a loss at 0 LP right after a promotion costs nothing for a few games, which the count cannot see

What the calculator reads

  • Tier, division and LP for the queue you select
  • Wins and losses on record this season, to pre-select your win rate tile
  • The target rank you pick, measured to its 0 LP floor
  • Queue, since Solo/Duo and Flex are separate ladders

Win-rate bands and what they mean for the grind

The same ten net wins take a very different number of games depending on how often you win. Here is how each band plays out.

65% and above
Roughly three games per net win. You are far below your true level; play as much as you can before your MMR catches up and the LP gains shrink.
58% to 64%
Five to six games per net win. A healthy climb: the rank moves every session and losses rarely undo a whole evening.
52% to 57%
Ten to twenty-five games per net win. Progress is real but slow, and a bad week can erase it. This is where most players plateau.
50% and below
No net progress on average. More games will not move the rank; the win rate itself has to change, through a smaller champion pool, coaching or a break.

What does not shorten the climb

Common beliefs that do not change the LP between you and the next rank.

  • Dodging champion select (it costs LP, it never gains any)
  • Playing normals or ARAM (separate hidden ratings, zero ranked LP)
  • Account level, honor level or mastery points
  • Skins, RP or cosmetics
  • Promotion series: they no longer exist, so there is nothing to "get through"

Wins by Queue and Region

Solo/Duo and Flex are separate ladders with separate LP, so pick the queue you actually climb. Regions are separate too: an EUW account and an NA account each have their own rank, and the calculator reads whichever region you select for the Riot ID you type. If you climb on several accounts, run each one on its own.

How to Need Fewer Games

You cannot shrink the LP between two ranks, but you can change the two numbers the count divides it by. Everything below either raises your LP per win, raises your win rate, or removes the grind entirely.

Play while your MMR is ahead
Run the LoL MMR checker first. If it says underranked, your wins pay more than your losses cost right now: that is the moment to queue, not next week.
Narrow your champion pool
Two or three champions per role raises a win rate more reliably than any other change. Each point of win rate above 50% cuts the games per net win sharply.
Stop at two losses in a row
Tilt turns a 56% player into a 48% one for the evening. A break after consecutive losses protects the win rate the whole count depends on.
Fix the mistakes that cap your win rate
A short block of LoL coaching targets what actually loses your games, which moves the win rate the tiles above are built on.
Skip the net wins altogether
LoL division boosting covers the exact climb the calculator counted, on your account with a verified Challenger booster, or as duo boosting if you want to play. Net wins boosting sells the wins one by one.

Re-run the calculator after every session: the LP you gained shortens the count, and a changed win rate moves the game estimate with it. If you would rather start higher, compare ranks on the LoL marketplace.

Reading Your Wins Result

The result card gives you one headline number and four ways to reach it. Here is how to turn each into a plan.

  • The net wins figure is the climb itself: wins minus losses from now until the target floor. It only changes when your LP or the target changes.
  • The from → to line shows exactly what was counted: your live rank and LP on the left, the 0 LP floor of the target on the right.
  • The four tiles are the same net wins at 55, 60, 65 and 70% win rate, with the wins and losses inside each. Pick the tile that matches how you have been playing.
  • The season win rate under the tiles is read from your record this season and marks the tile closest to it, so the realistic estimate is the highlighted one.

What to do with each outcome

Under 10 net wins
A week of focused play at a decent win rate. Queue now, especially if the MMR checker shows you underranked.
10 to 40 net wins
A month or more of consistent ranked. Worth a look at your champion pool or a few coaching sessions before you start, since every point of win rate saves dozens of games.
Over 40 net wins
A season-long project at most win rates. This is the range where division boosting or a higher-ranked account is usually the honest comparison.

Methodology: How We Count Net Wins

The count is deliberately simple enough to check by hand. Here is every step, what it reads, and what it leaves out on purpose.

Where the rank comes from
Your tier, division, LP, wins and losses for the selected queue are read through the official Riot API from your Riot ID. No login, no client, no private data: the same figures anyone can see on your profile.
How the LP distance is measured
The ladder is treated as a straight line: Iron IV starts at 0, every division adds 100 LP, and Master starts at 2,800. Your position is your division floor plus your LP; the target is its floor. The difference is the distance, never negative.
How wins and games are derived
Net wins are the distance divided by LP per win, rounded up because you cannot win a fraction of a game. Games at a win rate w are net wins divided by (2w − 1): every game adds one win or one loss, so the expected net gain per game is 2w − 1. At 50% or below the expected gain is zero, so no game count is shown.
What it cannot see
Your true LP per win and per loss, demotion shields, the exact LP you will hold when you reach the target floor, and any change in your win rate along the way. Treat the number as the honest middle of the range, not a promise.

Want to know why your LP gains are what they are? The LoL MMR checker estimates the hidden rating behind them, and the account value calculator tells you what the account is worth once you get there.
